ISEN 2018 held at Taipei Tech

The 7th IEEE International Symposium on Next-Generation Electronics (ISNE 2018) was held on May 7-9 on Taipei Tech’s campus. Organized by Taipei Tech, IEEE, EDS, and TASSE, the ISNE the ISNE 2018 attracted professionals and scholars from countries including Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Japan, Korea, and U.S.A. First held in 2013, the ISNE focuses on next-generation electronics technology.

The theme of ISNE 2018 is “Next-Generation Electronics for AI and 5G Communications”. Researchers and scientists exchanged thoughts on many areas in the symposium including Microelectronic Devices and Materials, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Device and Materials, Compound Semiconductor Materials and Optoelectronic Devices, Integrated Circuits and Systems, Bioelectronics, Sensors, Packaging Technologies, and Novel Applications in Science and Technology, RF and Microwave Circuits, Computer Communication and Multimedia Techniques, IOT and AI Techniques, and Power and Control Engineering.

Prof. Ching-Ting Lee from Yuan Ze University and Prof. Hao-Chung Kuo from National Chiao Tung University gave two keynote speeches focused on progress and development of GaN-based metal-oxide-semiconductor high-electron mobility transistors (MOS-HEMTs) and recent progress of CaN-based micro-LED and VCSEL for micro-display application separately. The conference also invited scholars around the world to share their research results and trend in professional fields.

Contributing in 31 paper presentations during symposium among 22 oral sessions, Taipei Tech faculty and student showed their momentum in research. Dean of College Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Prof. Yuh-Shyan Hwang at Taipei Tech, General Chair of ISNE 2018, noted that ISNE is a platform for researchers, scientists, investigators and students to present and share related experiences. And Taipei Tech is pleased to hold this valuable event.
