China Times Weekly (CTW) and 1111 Job Bank conducted a survey about the favorable university graduates for corporations in Taiwan. The results show that the National Taiwan University top all the other university graduates, and National Taipei University of Technology overlook all the other TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) university graduates.
The visit this time has initiated the possibility of an innovative financial lab in seek of the cooperation and information exchange on big data, blockchains, and other data analysis regarding FinTech with HKEX. Dr. An-Bang Tsai, the distinguished alumni of Taipei Tech, elected as an academician this year, was conferred the honorary doctorate degree at Taipei Tech 107th anniversary celebration.
National Taipei University of Technology held its first film festival, “Technology and Arts”, as the prelude to the celebration for the 107th anniversary. The festival lasted for five days from 15th through 19th Oct. and was open to all for free.
The 2018 Asia Pacific Youth Forum on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (YIE Taipei), hosted by Taipei Tech Department of English, saw around one hundred local and oversea participants from thirteen Asia Pacific countries engaged in workshops and exchange of entrepreneurship ideas during a three-day event, from October 4 through 6, 2018.
Of the 5,640 design concepts submitted for review, Taipei Tech students won two Red Dot Award in the Design Concept category this year. Red Dot Design Award is known as the Oscar for the industrial design. Taipei Tech boasts its strength in industrial design, which is well-recognized with many domestic and international awards.
In celebration of Taiwan’s National Day, the Taipei Tech Wood School is bringing its woodworking exhibition, titled “Fubao”, to the Twin Oaks estate in Washington, D.C. in October. This will be the first international exhibition showcasing traditional Taiwanese woodworking artistry since the founding of the nation.
Taipei Tech has been working with Ministry of Labor to establish Integrated Academia-Industry Education Programs (IAIE Programs) since 2013. On July 6, 148 students completed their graduation requirements including 1,800-hours of technique training, getting technician certificate, and internship. Taipei Tech president Prof. Sea-Fue Wang encouraged them to keep learning in order to stay competitive in the ever-changing world.
