Dear prospective students,

As Dean of the Office of International Affairs at TAIPEI TECH, I am very pleased to welcome you to study at TAIPEI TECH and thank you for your interest in our university. I am confident that you will find a wealth of opportunities to learn and grow characterized by a richness and depth that can be found at TAIPEI TECH.

TAIPEI TECH was established in 1911 and has since produced quite a number of outstanding alumni and graduates who have contributed much to the economic development and prosperity of Taiwan. Currently, 10% of Taiwan’s listed stock company CEOs or Founders are our alumni (e.g., Founder of ASUS, Co-founder of HTC, etc). We are currently ranked Number One by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education in terms of Teaching Excellence; this year, TAIPEI TECH also garnered the Number One Paradigm Technological University status for its research and academic excellence. Our graduates are the top favorites of Taiwan’s top 1000 enterprises, as declared by Cheers magazine, while Commonwealth considered us the best technological university in Taiwan. This year, we are also ranked the Number One Green University in the High Rise Building category and ranked by QS rankings as one of the Top 100 universities in Asia and Top 500 univeristies in the world.

TAIPEI TECH has had much experience in international cooperation. We currently host international students from over 50 countries around the world, which make up approximately five percent of the student population of the university. In addition, we offer 19 undergraduate programs and 51 post graduate programs. We have recently launched an overseas MBA program in Thailand, and we also carry out special educational programs with the governments of the Gambia, Swaziland, and Saudi Arabia in which we train their brightest students to become professional engineers, who will serve as the future builders of their respective countries.

TAIPEI TECH is an institution that will not only give you excellent training and needed skills, but also gain the opportunity to enjoy the richness of Chinese culture that Taipei has to offer. TAIPEI TECH is located at the heart of Taipei city, and the center of social, political, and economic life in the country. Most attractions such as Taipei 101, the Palace Museum, and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall are just around the corner from the University. In addition, it is also close to the grand station hub that offers east access to major cities and other sightseeing spots all over Taiwan. You can enjoy easy access to these great places, as well as other places in Taiwan while you study at TAIPEI TECH.

Please feel free to visit us and let us show you why our students and faculty are so happy to be here. Meet the people in our community, and experience for yourself why our alumni are so proud of the education that they obtained here. Your opportunities are endless. We challenge you to make the most out of them. We welcome you to join us, and if you have any questions, our staff will be most happy to assist you.

Sincerely yours,

Pai Tun-Wen
