Taipei Tech established the i Foundry and InnoMaking Space on November 6 at Everlight building, Taipei Tech. Many education officials including Se-Hwa Wu, the Minister of Ministry of Education, Hsiang-Ping Ma, the Director General of Department of Technological and Vocational Education of Ministry of Education, as well as civil maker alliances were all invited and attended this grant opening event.
Da-Sheng Lee, the Dean of the Office of Industry-Academia Cooperation, noted that the one-stop service provided by the i Foundry and InnoMaking Space including expert consulting, fund matching, networking, and producing sample product, makes it easier for new starters to achieve their dreams. In addition to open plan offices, meeting rooms, and recreation space, the i Foundry and InnoMaking Space also has pitch show rooms for teams to give presentations to venture capital companies.
In order to track business progress status, the i Foundry and InnoMaking Space also offers evaluation and operating suggestion to entered team on a three monthly basis.
Leether Yao, the President of Taipei Tech noted that the i Foundry and InnoMaking Space is expected to be the demonstration base for business starters on campus. Moreover, it provides opportunities for students to sharpen their practical techniques. He hoped that the i Foundry and InnoMaking Space will form a new tribe of business starters in Taipei as well as to draw young people both in Taiwan and overseas to gather and fulfill their dreams.
