Taipei Tech student to create two pieces of work that meant to improve people’s life.

Industrial development and environment protection sometimes cannot reach balance due to the greediness of dishonest businessman. From time to time, we will see news reports about factory illegally release waste water into river and cause pollution to our planet. Although Government wants to stop this kind of things from happening, the fact that restricted human resource makes it hard. In order to solve this problem, Wen-shou Wen, Ting-yu Lai, students from the Master Program of Innovation and Design at Taipei Tech, came up with the idea of the River Angel that detects water quality autonomously by floating in a river.

Shaped as a ball float, it can be connected to each other through wire and formed a line like the one you will see in swimming pull. The bottom part of it is a device which can generate and provide the electricity for itself by water currency. When it found water is polluted, the top part which floats above the water surface will light up and send a warning signal to the Environmental Protection Agency. Instructed by Wen-shou Ye and Hong-xiang Wang, this creative design was awarded in the 13th Y.S Award.

Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare of R.O.C recommend people to intake at least 300 kg of vegetable and 200 kg of fruit every day in order to stay healthy. But about 80% people don’t have enough vegetable and 85% people don’t eat enough fruit according to survey conducted by John Tung Foundation. Designed by Wen-shou Wen, Ting-yu Lai and Yu-chin Chen, student from the Institution of Automation Technology, the Fruit Every Day is a new merchandise model for fruit and vegetable that expected to make fruit and vegetable more approachable to people.

Two important parts of this model are the vending machine locates at MRT station or school entrance and an internet surface that allows customers to order and pay for their fruit/vegetable boxes. By registering a certain Easy Cards to the system, people can retrieve their fresh orders effortlessly in any scheduled date. Instructed by Hong-xiang Wang, Fruit Every Day was awarded in Taipei Tech Internet and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2016.
