Headed by President Suvit Saetia, the delegation of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) in Thailand paid a visit to Taipei Tech on 30 July 2019. As one of the most important partners to KMUTT, Taipei Tech was introduced to the newly installed President of KMUTT to maintain the friendship. During the visit, Taipei Tech President Sea-Fue Wang and KMUTT President Suvit Saetia had a smooth dialogue on the ongoing and future academic and cultural exchange projects.

Taipei Tech has been partnered with KMUTT since 2012 and has successfully carried out quite a few collaborative projects. A course-based and lab-based student exchange, for instance, is the earliest one in the partnership. It followed by the faculty exchange by which Taipei Tech professors of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and engineering were invited to KMUTT for short-termed courses. The international internship was initiated shortly after, allowing students to intern at the factories in Thailand. Both sides have also signed a memorandum of understanding on joint research.

Taipei Tech and KMUTT have been in talks of the dual degree in chemical engineering since last year. During the visit this time, both sides drafted a more detailed content of the agreement, which is soon to be finalized. Built on numerous successful collaborative experiences, the mutual trust that Taipei Tech and KMUTT have for each other will bring about more opportunities in the future.
