The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology Master Program is a new program to be launched soon by Taipei Tech that focuses on AI application of smart healthcare, manufacturing and big data. The program is planned to enroll 33 students. Students from different disciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Yang Shih-hsuan, Vice President of Taipei Tech, noted that computer programming and computational thinking will be the core abilities of future talents. “Students will also need to be equipped with cross-disciplinary vision and communication skills to be able to comprehend and solve complicated problems that the AI devices cannot solve,” said Yang, “so the new program is expected to cultivate students’ abilities as well as to cater to the growing needs of talents with AI-specific skills in the market”.

Hwang Yuh-shyan, Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, indicated that Taipei Tech’s industry partners collaborate closely with the university on the curriculum planning of the new AI program. Partners such as AU Optronics Corporation (AUO) and ELAN Microelectronics donated advanced AI server and computing platform for students of the program. Both AUO and ELAN Microelectronics also provide scholarships to fund students with academic pursuit on the research and development in the AI field.
