Chen also uses Hakka proverbs and Hakka features to decorate the outer box of bento to make it more attractive to customers. In order to preserve Hakka traditional flavor, Chen made a trip back to her hometown,Miaoli city, to learn how to cook in the right way from her mother. In addition to flavor, Chen also pays attention to people's health; therefore all four types of bento have calories information on the outer box. Chen noted that the design concept behind Hakka Bento is to promote Hakka culture by delicious food and innovative box design.
