Taipei Tech won gold at intelligent automation competition

The 2016 Intelligent Automation Creative Project Competition organized by Taipei Tech  attracted dozens of teams across the nation to participate. Only 17 of them got the ticket for the finals which held on December 16. Organizers provide not only NTD.10,000 as materials cost but also sponsor parts and consultant for all the teams that reached to the finals.

The goal of this competition is to boost students’ creativity in integrating electrical engineering, automation, and IoT as well as to cultivate talents in related fields said Taipei Tech.

The gold winning project “Memorial Tag Laser Engraving Machine with Intelligent Flexible Production Technology” , instructed by Professor Pai-Yu Tseng, integrates laser processing, precision screw transmission, visual recognition, CNC controller, internet, and mechanical arms for laser engraving allowing it to take customized orders online along with automatically production.

Che-Hua Yang, Dean of College of Electrical Engineering of Taipei Tech, noted that Industry 4.0 is a huge thing in Taiwan now, under the sponsorship of TBI Motion, the spirit of Industry 4.0 has shown in this competition. And the scale of this year is beyond imagination considering it is only the second year of this competition. Yang also hoped that this event will become an important one of its kind in Taiwan in 5 years.
