Cheers magazine’s survey

Practical skills are a welcomed asset among employers and the key to employment. Cheers magazine is especially designed for young job seekers, providing them with latest news in the job market. According to Cheers magazine’s survey of two thousand large businesses, on the list of the top 30 university graduates that employers love to hire, a third of the schools are technical and vocational universities.

In its 18th consecutive year of performing this survey on which university graduates are most popular among employers, Cheers magazine used the following 8 criteria: professional knowledge and skills, global perspective and foreign language skills, ability to handle stress, ability to work as a team, willingness to learn, ability to innovate, ability to solve problems, and ability to draw inferences. This survey was sent to HR directors of 2,000 large businesses in Taiwan.

What is worth mentioning is that technical and vocational universities are gaining a sudden surge in popularity, and it is becoming a trend worth observing. According to this survey’s ranking from the past three years, graduates with practical skills are becoming more and more favored by employers.

Last year, Taipei Tech (NTUT) was already listed as one of the top ten universities with graduates most favored by employers. This year, Taipei Tech moved up one spot on the list, proving that graduates from Taipei Tech are very competitive in the job market.
