Employees Love Master's Students from Taipei Tech

Taipei Tech jumped to 4th place in this year's survey conducted by 1111 Job Bank and Global Views Magazine.

1111 Job Bank and Global Views Magazine conducted this survey to learn about employers' experiences in hiringmaster's students and what they're looking for when hiring. In this survey, 70% of enterprises expressed willingness to give job offers to master's students; enterprises in the IT, technology, services, education and government sectors showed the most interest.

Enterprises that have hired master's students indicated that when hiring, internship experience or participation in industry-academia programs are looked upon much more favorably than professors' recommendation letters or excellent grades. Both internships and industry-academia programs are at the heart of Taipei Tech's education. For this reason, up to 85% of the enterprises recommend university graduates to work first and then go pursue advance studies; reasons include "students will be sure about where their interests or talents lie through work and advance their education with more direction" and "students would know which professional skills they are lacking through work."

1111 Job Bank Deputy General Manager Ho indicated, enterprises are paying more attention to the "practical professional skills" of research talents. This is why when enterprises are hiring master's students, enterprises place more value on practical experience more than grades or professors' recommendations.

In this year's "Master's Students Most Favored by Enterprises" ranking, Taipei Tech jumped to 4th place. This shows that technical and vocational universities also play a decisive role in the field of higher education. This survey began on June 24, 2014 and ended on July 23, 2014. It was conducted through random sampling on the internet or random sampling through telephone interviews and collected 524 responses.
