Taipei Tech embraces the FinTech trend

FinTech (Financial Technology) is on the popular right now. When technology is turning financial market upside down, the trend also affects the ranking of commerce and management group in vocational and technology universities in Taiwan. The Department of Information and Finance Management of Taipei Tech has been the first choice for students two years in a row, i.e. 2015 and 2016.
Song-Shun Wong, Dean of the College of Management, noted that Business Management was students’ first choice in the past. But it is the convenience of information technology application that made Taipei Tech’s Department of Information and Finance Management stood out among other universities.
The amount of bank service through intelligent phone is increasing. People can also use electronic business platform to do financial transactions. In the future, robot will gradually replace human labor in bank.
Jian-Wen Wu, Director of the Department of Information and Finance Management, said that in order to cultivate cross- disciplinary talent with financial knowledge and program writing ability, the Department built an 8 million FinTech Lab that is similar to New York Stock Exchange. The Lad is expected to give students opportunity to practice writing their own intelligent investment trade program. In American stock, over 60% stock buyers are robot that will automatically set selling and buying point according to investor’s behavior.
