Dragon Boat Festival is coming, are you reay to see a dragon boat competition? Hosted by Taiwan Paper Industry Association, onshore paper box dragon boat competition attracted 44 teams across the country to fight for the final glory on May 21 according to its official website. Participants should build a dragon boat with paper and use their feet as main power to move forward. Having same interests in Star War, 8 students from the Department of Civil Engineering of Taipei Tech formed a team and decided to build their boat using the concept of galaxy warship. After over one month designing and practicing, Taipei Tech team only took 46 seconds to finish the run in the competition and was awarded Best Team honor due to fast speed and creative look. Bo-Hung Chian, one of the team members, noted that it is a real treat and excitement to win the Best Group since he actually don’t have to go to class as a reward promised by his instructor. Chang-Fang Cai, team leader, noted that with Taipei Tech’s fully support and suggestions from former Taipei Tech team, can our team bring big award home.
