GEMINUS

Can transportation system such as MRT be more space efficient to leave more room for people? Taipei Tech student Pin-xing Li, Kai-qun Lin, Guan-xun Yu, Fei-yi He, and Mu-en Wu are trying to figure this out by designging a new type of MRT called GEMINUS. The concept of GEMINUS is to replace two rails for two trains by one trial by making two trains going up and down instead of side by side to each other as they currently do. The design enables smaller turning angle for train and many other benefits including energy-efficiency, low-noise, and low building cost. This design was recognized by the Reddot Design, Young Designers' Exhibition, and A+ Creative Festival Design Competition. Check out their video HERE.
