Chang Sun-Tuey Supports Taipei Tech in Building a Next-Generation Smart Campus, Backing Nation's First AI Application Platform

National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech) continues to advance its smart campus and artificial intelligence initiatives. On the 16th, the university held a donation ceremony for the AI Communication Management System and preparatory funding for the AI Computing Power Center. Taipei Tech President Yi-Jun Jen announced at the event that the university is set to launch an AI Application Platform independently developed by Taipei Tech faculty and students. Building on the University’s existing strengths in smart manufacturing, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and data analytics, the platform integrates four key area teaching, research, campus administration, and industrial application — forming a comprehensive blueprint for AI development. President Jen emphasized that this platform is not only the first of its kind in Taiwan, but also marks Taipei Tech's transformation from an adopter of AI technologies into a developer and practitioner of AI innovation.

Taiwan’s First Independently Developed Four-Domain AI Application Platform Opens a New Chapter in Technological and Vocational Education

President Yi-Jun Jen stated that in response to the rapid development of generative AI, Taipei Tech's self-developed AI Application Platform will introduce AI teaching assistants and intelligent learning systems for education; support the development of proprietary models and high-performance computing environments for research; apply AI to streamline administrative processes and enhance campus services and through industry-academia collaboration, help enterprises adopt AI and cultivate talent to drive industrial upgrading.

President Jen also expressed sincere appreciation to alumnus Chang Sun-Tuey, Chairman of Shangjin Investment Co., Ltd., for donating an AI Communication Management System valued at NT$12 million, as well as NT$500,000 in preparatory funding for the establishment of an AI Computing Power Center. This generous contribution not only strengthens the University's communications infrastructure and enhances AI teaching and research capabilities, but also provides critical support for the launch of Taipei Tech's pioneering AI Application Platform, which will play an important role in cultivating future technology talent.

Upgrading AI-Integrated Communications — Taipei Tech Sets a New Benchmark for Smart Campuses

Taipei Tech noted that the donated Taipei Tech noted that the donated AI Communication Management System incorporates AiTalk IP PBX technology, integrating extension lines, mobile applications, and external calling functions. Combined with AI-powered speech recognition and intelligent callback features, the system is expected to substantially improve communication efficiency and reduce operating costs.

The system also features a highly reliable redundant architecture and supports smart services such as maintenance requests and information inquiries, comprehensively enhancing campus operational efficiency.

Taipei Tech further noted that the system's strong scalability and integration capabilities will serve as a key communications foundation for the University’s next-generation smart campus, and may, in the future, become an important reference model for other institutions pursuing smart campus development.

Alumni Giving Back — Helping Taipei Tech Move Toward an International AI Technology Hub

A distinguished alumnus of Taipei Tech, Chang Sun-Tuey has dedicated many years to the telecommunications industry and has made significant contributions to the development of Taiwan’s mobile communications sector.

In recent years, he has also actively expanded into the fields of 5G and smart energy. He has long supported his alma mater, and has continuously promoted industry-academia collaboration and technological advancement.

Taipei Tech stated that it will continue to deepen AI research and international collaboration, build a cross-institutional and cross-industry AI application ecosystem, and move toward becoming a world-class hub for AI application technologies, and inject new momentum into Taiwan's higher education and industrial transformation.
