Taipei Tech Launches Nation’s First 100% In-House Developed Generative AI Platform
From “Using AI” to “Building AI”: Applications Across Education, Administration, and Industry
National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech) today (April 16) officially unveiled its “Generative AI Application Platform,” one of the few systems nationwide that is 100% independently developed by in-house faculty and students. The platform integrates a wide range of applications, including AI teaching assistants, real-time multilingual interpretation, intelligent presentation tools, AI-powered meeting transcription, and enterprise solutions. It has been fully deployed across teaching, research, administration, and industry scenarios, marking a significant breakthrough in the practical implementation of AI within technical education.
Taipei Tech President Yi-Jun Jen stated that in an era of rapid AI advancement, the key lies not in whether AI tools are adopted, but in whether institutions possess the capability to build their own systems. “Taipei Tech is not just using AI—we are building our own AI systems and bringing them directly into classrooms and real-world industrial applications,” he said.

Building a Dedicated AI System: ChatTaipeiTech Comparable to ChatGPT
One of the core systems unveiled is “ChatTaipeiTech,” a conversational AI developed by Taipei Tech. It features natural language interaction capabilities similar to ChatGPT and can be integrated with institutional knowledge bases and domain-specific datasets to support teaching, research, and administrative services.
Compared to institutions that rely heavily on external cloud-based AI services, Taipei Tech has adopted a fully in-house development and deployment architecture. This enables flexible customization and strengthens data security, making it particularly suitable for handling sensitive institutional and enterprise information.
Multilingual AI Interpretation: A New Model for Real-Time Cross-Language Communication
Another major highlight is the multilingual AI interpretation system. By leveraging speech recognition and real-time translation technologies, the system can instantly convert spoken content into multiple languages, making it applicable to classroom teaching, international exchanges, and global conferences.
Beyond translation, the system integrates AI-powered meeting transcription and multilingual presentation generation, forming a comprehensive intelligent communication solution that significantly enhances teaching effectiveness and international collaboration.

AI Enters the Classroom: Launch of TaipeiTech Education
In educational applications, Taipei Tech has introduced the “TaipeiTech Education” system, bringing generative AI directly into teaching environments. Key features include:
AI Teaching Assistants: Providing instant responses and supporting after-class learning
Multilingual Presentations: Automatically generating and translating content
AI-Based Learning Assessment: Assisting instructors in analyzing learning outcomes
AI Interpretation: Enabling real-time multilingual teaching
AI Learning Center: Supporting self-directed multilingual learning
In addition, the platform has been applied to research and administrative functions, including AI-assisted writing, multilingual meeting transcription, knowledge management systems, and intelligent campus navigation, transforming AI from a backend tool into a core component of daily operations.

From Campus to Industry: Building a Complete AI Application Ecosystem
Taipei Tech emphasized that the platform will extend beyond campus use and expand into industry applications, including:
Enterprise AI adoption consulting services
Customized generative AI system development
On-premise AI solutions ensuring data security
Through the integration of talent cultivation, technology development, and industrial application, Taipei Tech aims to build practical AI solutions and strengthen the connection between technical education and industry.

From Technology Adopter to Solution Builder: A New Benchmark for AI in Technical Education
Taipei Tech noted that the launch of this generative AI platform represents its transformation from a user of AI technologies into a developer of comprehensive AI systems and application scenarios.
Moving forward, the university will continue to enhance platform capabilities, expand application domains, and adopt a “self-developed, self-built, self-used, and self-validated” approach to establish a new model for AI-driven technical education in Taiwan and further strengthen its global competitiveness.
